We have started to roll out our Bring a Guest program. MoviePass users will now be able to be able to bring a guest by purchasing a full price movie ticket for them at select partner theaters.
How does Bring A Guest work?
Bring A Guest will allow members to purchase a full-priced ticket for their friend through the app and reserve seating together if seat selection is available at that particular theater. The credit card on file will be charged for that ticket.
You earn reimbursement of the ticket price for each qualified guest who signs up for MoviePass within 24 hours after the showtime of the movie to which you invited them, and activates their MoviePass account within 30 days from sign up (when they receive and activate their MoviePass card, or use MoviePass to check into a supported e-ticketing theater, whichever occurs first).
Will I be charged for my guest’s ticket?
Yes, the credit card you have on file with MoviePass will be charged for the price of your guest’s ticket. The second ticket is full retail price plus a convenience fee of $1.50, but if the guest signs up for MoviePass within 24 hours the second ticket price will be removed from the member's credit card.
Reimbursement (excluding the non-refundable $1.50 ticket convenience fee) will be applied to your card within about 3-5 business days after the guest activates their new MoviePass account.
Will there be ticket verification for my friend’s ticket?
No, ticket verification will only be active for your ticket.
Is this available for every theater?
Bring A Guest will only be available at MoviePass partner theaters/e-ticketing theaters (indicated by white circles on the MoviePass map in the app), however, we hope to expand it widely soon.
