Sometimes we hear from our customers that their MoviePass cards are not being accepted at their favorite theaters. We're so sorry for any inconvenience this might cause. 

The MoviePass card works just like a debit or credit card – it's even created and distributed by the same folks who make MasterCard credit cards (as you might have noticed from the symbol on the front!). As such, if a theater accepts MasterCard, they should accept MoviePass. 

If you explain this to the theater staff and they still refuse to accept that form of payment, we would recommend buying your ticket online on that particular theater's website or through an online ticketing app/platform. If you're favorite theater doesn't offer online ticketing, let us know – send us an email with the name of the theater giving you trouble and we'll reach out to them on your behalf. 

Keeping a close and friendly relationship with our theater partners is a part of what makes MoviePass the premier subscription service you can use anywhere, so we'll do all that we can to figure things out for our customers when they run into trouble. 

Keep in mind only physical cards work at the theater.  If you have a virtual card, you need to purchase your ticket from the theater's website, or through a ticketing app.
