How do I activate my Physical MoviePass card?

MoviePass has both virtual cards and physical cards.  New users will automatically receive a virtual card that does not need to be activated.  Only users who request, and receive, a physical card will need to activate.  

If you prefer a physical card, you can request one by contacting customer service through email (support@moviepass.com) or chat with us through the MoviePass app (11:30am - 11:30pm eastern time) seven days a week.

The physical card should arrive in your mailbox 10-15 days after starting your subscription. Please note that when you request a physical card, the virtual card will be de-activated immediately so you won't be able to use MoviePass until the physical card arrives.  When the physical card arrives, you must activate your card to start going to the movies and you can do so directly in the app.  Click on the "account" icon (lower right), click on "Activate Card" and then input the last 4 digits of your MoviePass credit card.  

Please Note: If you forget to activate your card, it will auto-activate after 21 days. If your card has been auto-activated, you will not see the "Activate Card" option on the Account page in the app.  


Once you’ve activated the card, you’re ready to check in to a movie and head to the theater. You can swipe the MoviePass card at the kiosk or box office like any other debit/credit card – no PIN required.
