My Card Declined At the Theater

Your card can decline at the theater for a few reasons: 


  • You forgot to check in before swiping your card

  • Your two hour reservation window has expired (once you check in, you have two hours to purchase your ticket)

  • You used the wrong zip code when trying to purchase your ticket 

  • You’re trying to buy more than 1 ticket at a time 

  • You’re trying to purchase a specialty screening ticket (IMAX, 3D, Dolby, 70mm, etc.)*


If your card declines for any of the reasons above, please try swiping the card again after you’ve made sure to check in and confirmed that:


  • You've checked in successfully

  • Your reservation is still valid 

  • You submit the zip code associated with your MoviePass account 

  • You’re only trying to purchase a single standard 2D movie ticket.
